First day of the trip….

Or second, really, since we left yesterday evening on the ferry to Gdansk. But first day riding after arriving to Poland. Calm night on the ferry. Hardly no wind at all so a comfortable ride. Too many beers last night tho. Was tired today in the saddle. The ferry was a combined cargo-/passenger ship with mostly truck drivers aboard. Smallest tax free shop I´ve seen in my whole life. Like a closet almost. Or three closets. But not much bigger than that. We did not buy anything.

A view from the ship rather soon after leaving Nynäshamn. Beautiful evening.

We arrived to Gdansk at 1 o´clock and was through customs in no time. They didn´t even look at us as we passed through on the bikes but two police officers stared at Tina when we passed them. I´m rather certain that they are not very used to female Harley riders. They totally ignored me tho. Drove south all day and saw the regular whores standing along the motorway. Really nice weather. Fine day.

Petrol station in Poland.

Found a hotel when it got dark around 7.30. Will be a interesting day tomorrow. We´ll try to leave the hotel not too late and drive the reminding 320 kilometers to one of the most horrible places on the planet. Auschwitz. Always hard to see the evil deeds humans can do to one another. We humans can totally fuck things up every once in awhile. And then we´ll continue to the rather famous salt mine in Wieliczka just east of Krakow after Auschwitz. And we hope to sleep in Zakopane near the Slovakian border tomorrow night. That´s the plan and we´ll see how things work out. Might have to change the plans as things tend to happen when out traveling. Will be a long day anyway. More later.

Cheers//Jan
